LO is pleased to announce it is partnering with Hydro Ottawa for an exciting pilot project deploying charging stations to residents in Ottawa. The project will serve to bring a greater understanding of residential EV demands on the electricity grid.
FLO will provide Hydro Ottawa with 100 FLO Home X5 charging stations. FLO will also give software services, real-time station usage monitoring, reporting and analysis of infrastructure impacts, conducting demand response events and determining integration with renewable resources. Hydro Ottawa will manage recruiting of participants and the installation of charging stations.
“Accommodating the growing demand for electric vehicle charging represents an opportunity for utilities as the majority of EV charging happens at home. The connectivity of our products allows utilities to future-proof their assets and reduce pressure on the grid. We’re proud to support Ontario’s Climate Change Action Plan through this initiative, and greatly look forward to working with other North American utilities to deploy similar solutions, ” said Louis Tremblay, Chief Executive Officer and President of FLO.
The project will be executed throughout the coming months. Ottawa residents interested in participating can visit www.hydroottawa.com/ev to register.
Hydro Ottawa is a member of Electric Mobility Canada and has participated in studying EV to learn how to better support electric vehicles in Ottawa and to plan for the future.
This collaboration with Hydro Ottawa is just one of many projects FLO is currently running with Canadian and American utility partners.
